Ingredients:

  • 1 teaspoon dried mullein leaves
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/2 teaspoon licorice root
  • 1.5 cups boiling water

Preparation:

Add herbs to a cup or pot and pour boiling water over them. Cover and steep for 10–12 minutes. Strain carefully to remove fine mullein hairs before drinking.

Usage:

Drink up to 2–3 times daily. Mullein soothes inflamed bronchial passages, thyme acts as an expectorant, and licorice root calms and moistens the respiratory tract.

Toxicity Profile:

Generally safe in moderation. Licorice root should not be used long-term or by individuals with high blood pressure. Mullein is safe when strained properly. Thyme can cause mild GI upset in excess.

  • During colds, bronchitis, or chest congestion
  • When experiencing shortness of breath or wheezing
  • As a supportive tea during seasonal allergies
  • To promote clearer breathing before sleep

Dosage Based on Weight:

Body Weight Recommended Daily Intake
Below 100 lbs (45 kg) 1 cup daily
100–150 lbs (45–68 kg) 1–2 cups daily
150–200 lbs (68–90 kg) 2–3 cups daily
Over 200 lbs (90+ kg) Up to 4 cups daily

Note: Limit licorice root use to no more than 7 consecutive days without a break. Always strain mullein thoroughly before drinking.
