Revelation

Chapter 1 of 22
1The revelation to John, as Jesus Christ showed it to him. God gave it to him to show his servants what must happen soon and what will happen after this. He sent it by his angel to his servant John, 2who bore witness to the word of God, to the testimony of Jesus Christ, and to everything he saw. 3Blessed is the one who reads, and those who hear the words of the prophecy of this book and keep what is written in it, for its time is near. 4This is what John wrote to the seven churches in Asia: Grace and peace to you from the one who is and who will be, who has come and who is coming, and from the seven spirits that are before the throne of Jesus Christ. 5He is the faithful witness. He is the firstborn from the dead, the one who rose. He is the ruler of the kings of the earth. He is the one who loved you and washed you from your sins in his blood, 6and made you into a holy kingdom for his Father, God. To him be glory and power forever and ever. Amen. 7Look, he is coming with the clouds of heaven. Every eye will see him, even those who pierced him. All the nations of the earth will mourn over him. Yes, truly. 8"I am the Alpha and the Omega," says God, who is and who will be, who has come and who is coming, the one who rules over all. 9I, John, your brother and your partner in suffering, in the kingdom, and in endurance for the sake of the endurance of Jesus Christ, was on the island called Patmos because of the word of God and the testimony of Jesus. 10The Spirit came upon me on the first day of the week, and I heard behind me a loud voice like the sound of a trumpet. 11It said to me, "Write in a book what you see and what you hear, and send it to the seven churches in Asia: to Ephesus, Smyrna, Pergamum, Thyatira, Sardis, Philadelphia, and Laodicea." 12I turned to see the voice that was speaking with me. When I turned, I saw seven golden lampstands. 13In the middle of the seven lampstands sat one like a son of man. He was dressed in a robe that reached to his feet, with a golden belt around his waist. 14His head and his hair were white, like white wool, and his eyes were like a flame of fire. 15His feet were like bronze of Lebanon refined in fire, and his voice was like the roar of many waters. 16In his right hand he held seven stars. A sharp two-edged sword came out of his mouth, and his face was like the sun shining bright in its strength. 17When I saw him, I fell at his feet and became like a dead man. He took hold of me with his right hand, lifted me up, and said to me, "Do not be afraid. I am the First and the Last, the Living One." 18I had become like a dead man, and he said to me, "Look, I am alive forever and ever, and I hold the keys of death and of Sheol. 19So write what you see, what is, and what is going to happen after this. Here is the meaning of the seven stars you saw in my right hand and of the seven golden lampstands: the seven stars are the angels of the seven churches, and the seven lampstands are the seven churches." 20ወይበል፡ ዘሰምዐ፡ ዘንተ፡ እወ፡ እመጽእ፡ ፍጡነ።
