Ephesians

Chapter 1 of 6
1From Paul, an apostle of our Lord Jesus Christ by the will of God, to the saints who are in Ephesus and are faithful in Jesus Christ. 2Peace to you, and grace from God our Father and our Lord Jesus Christ. 3Blessed be God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ Jesus with every blessing of the Holy Spirit in the heavens. 4He chose us for himself before the world was created, to make us holy and pure and blameless before him. 5In love he appointed us to be adopted as his children through Jesus Christ, according to the good pleasure of his will, 6for the honor and praise of his grace, which he freely gave us in his beloved Son. 7Through him we have found salvation, and our sins have been forgiven by his blood, according to the riches of his grace, 8which he poured out on us in all wisdom and understanding. 9He showed us the plan of his will, according to the good pleasure he set out for us through him. 10He measured out the time until it should be fulfilled, so that everything in heaven and on earth would be made new. 11God gave us our share by what he appointed for us, and he helped us according to the plan of his will, 12to give counsel and glory to those of us who have trusted in Christ Jesus. 13You too heard the word of truth, the teaching of your life. You believed, and you were sealed with the Holy Spirit he had promised. 14He is the pledge of our inheritance and of the salvation of our life, to the honor of his glory. 15For this reason, since I have heard of your faith in our Lord Jesus Christ and of how you love all the saints, 16I never stop giving thanks for you and remembering you in my prayers. 17I pray that God, the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, will give you a spirit of wisdom and reveal himself to you so that you know him. 18May he enlighten the eyes of your hearts, so that you may know what is the hope of your calling and what are the riches of the glory of the saints' inheritance, 19and what is the surpassing strength of his power at work in us who believe, according to the greatness of his power that he worked in Christ. 20He raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavens, 21high above all angels and rulers and powers and lords, and every name that is named, not only in this world but also in the world to come. 22He put everything in subjection under his feet. And he made him, who is over all things, head of the church, which is his body. 23He is the completion of all things, and he fills everything in every way.
