1 Corinthians

Chapter 1 of 16
1From Paul, appointed an apostle of our Lord Jesus Christ by the will of God, and Sosthenes our brother, 2to the church of God in Corinth, those made holy in Jesus Christ and called saints, and to all who call on the name of our Lord Jesus Christ in all their places, and to us with them. 3Grace and peace from God our Father and our Lord Jesus Christ. 4I always thank God for you, and for the grace of God that was given to you in Jesus Christ. 5For in him you have become rich in every word and in all wisdom, 6just as the testimony of Christ was made firm among you, 7so that you lack no gift and are made complete, as you wait for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. 8He will keep you firm to the end, without blame on the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9God is faithful, who called you to be partners with his Son Jesus Christ our Lord. 10I urge you, brothers, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you say the same thing and not be troubled. Be complete and do not be divided. Be of one counsel and one heart. 11For people from Chloe's household have told me about you, my brothers, that you quarrel and argue with each other. 12Now I tell you what you are saying among yourselves: "I belong to Paul," "I belong to Apollos," "I belong to Cephas," "I belong to Christ." 13Has Christ been divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Or were you baptized in Paul's name? 14I thank God that I baptized none of you except Crispus and Gaius, so that no one can say, "We were baptized in his name." 15I did baptize the household of Stephanas too. Beyond that I do not know whether I baptized anyone else. 16For Christ did not send me to baptize but to teach, 17and not with clever words, so that we would not empty the cross of Christ of its power. 18For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are saved it is the power of God. 19For this is what Scripture says: "I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and I will reject the counsel of the counselors." 20Where, then, is the wise man? Where is the scribe? Where is the one who searches out this world? Has not God made the wisdom of this world foolish? 21For in the wisdom of God the world did not know him through its own wisdom, so God decided to save those who believe through the foolishness of the flesh. 22For Jews ask for a sign, and Greeks look for wisdom. 23But we preach Christ crucified. To the Jews it seems that we are wandering, and to the Gentiles it seems that we are foolish. 24But to us who are saved, from the Jews and from the Gentiles, Christ is the power of God and the wisdom of God. 25For what is foolishness on God's part is wiser than human beings, and what is weakness on God's part is stronger than human beings. 26Look, then, my brothers, at how he called you. Not many of you were wise by human standards, not many were powerful, and not many were of noble birth. 27But God chose what is foolish in this world to put the wise to shame, and he chose what is weak in this world to put the strong to shame. 28God chose those who have no family standing and those who are despised, and those who are nothing, to put to shame those who are something, 29so that no one of flesh may boast before God. 30You too are from him in Jesus Christ. In him we have received wisdom from God, and righteousness, and holiness, and salvation, 31so that it may be as Scripture says: "Whoever boasts, let him boast in God." 32ቦኑ፡ ለአድልዎ፡ ለሰብእ፡ ተበአስኩ፡ ምስለ፡ አርዌ፡ በኤፌሶን።
